Post-Emergent weed control is used to kill the weeds that are already growing and that we are able to see in the yard.  Weed control service consists of spraying actual weed themselves in order to get the herbicide on the plant.  The herbicide is taken in by the leaves and into the root of the plant thus killing the weed, root and all.

Pre-Emergent weed control is used to stop the seeds from germinating.  Stopping the seeds from germinating in the first place is key in gaining control over a weed problem.  This application is usually a broad spray over granite or rock landscaping preventing any weed problems in the near future.  This application is not permanent and will loose its effectiveness over time.  This usually takes 6 months to a year.

Broad-leaf weed control is where weeds are sprayed that are in existing bermuda grass.  The grass is generally not harmed in this process because it is formulated specifically for broadleaved weeds.
